Les paisibles habitants de Pouligny-Saint-Pierre sont encore sous le choc d’avoir appris il y a trois jours que leur église avait été vandalisée par des mineurs, « des gens du voyage » selon l’appellation cosmétique. vitraux de l’église, l’émotion est palpable dans la commune.
Place des Anciens-Combattants, au pied de l’église Saint-Pierre, des parpaings gisent encore au sol. C’est avec ce genre de projectiles que les vitraux ont été brisés. Les plombs faisant le lien entre les carreaux de verre teintés ont plié sous le poids des chocs. D’autres dégradations ont été constatées à l’intérieur de la chapelle latérale.
Cette chapelle, édifiée à la fin du XVe siècle, est classée monument historique et abrite de superbes peintures murales. Selon les premières estimations, la réparation des vitraux coûterait environ 5.000 euros.
