Robert Ménard, maire de Béziers, a été violemment pris à partie, empoigné, agressé et jeté à terre à son arrivée à Saint-André-de-Cubzac où il venait participer à une rencontre du collectif Pour la France.
Depuis quelques jours, le parti socialiste Nord Gironde avait appelé à « un rassemblement face à l’extrême droite » devant la mairie de la commune. Mais des manifestants de gauche et d’extrême gauche étaient également présents devant la salle où se réunissait le collectif Pour la France.
On notera l’absence des forces de l’ordre malgré les risques évidents liés à la présence de manifestants gauchistes devant la salle de réunion.
