p style= »text-align: justify; »>Deux évêques orthodoxes d’Alep ont été enlevés le 22 avril 2013 par un groupe djihadiste. Il s’agit de Monseigneur Boulos Yazigi, métropolite grec-orthodoxe et frère du Patriarche grec-orthodoxe, Jean X , et de Monseigneur Youhanna Ibrahim, métropolite syriaque-orthodoxe.
Mgr Ibrahim était allé en voiture dans une zone près de la frontière turque tenue par les djihadistes pour ramener Mgr Yazigi qui revenait de Turquie où il s’était rendu pour négocier la libération de deux prêtres, retenus eux aussi en otage. Les preneurs d’otages ont tué le chauffeur, dénommé Hanna, diacre syriaque-orthodoxe.
L’archidiocèse syriaque-orthodoxe d’Alep, par la voix de Razek Siriani, avait déclaré : « Nous avons besoin de la pression de toutes les Eglises et de toutes les ambassades du monde afin qu’ils soient relâchés. Nous avons besoin, en ce moment critique, de la prière de tous les croyant du monde ».
