L’ORATOIRE DE SAINT FRANCOIS DE SALES :
3 chutes pour un grand ordre
Des centaines d’automobilistes passent tous les jours devant l’indication de cet oratoire sans en connaitre l’existence !
Il est quasiment oublié, si simple et dépouillé et pourtant, il est si riche d’histoire ce petit oratoire dédié à saint François de Sales !
En effet, il retrace la période de la vie de notre saint régional alors même qu’il cherchait sa vocation.
Le 24 novembre 1592…
Fraîchement promu docteur en droit de l’université de Padoue, reçu au barreau de Chambéry devant le noble Sénat de Savoie, tiraillé par son père pour faire carrière dans la profession d’avocat, ou même pour se marier, notre saint trouve la voie où Dieu l’attend dans cette forêt de Sonnaz où il tombe par trois fois de son cheval.
La vocation sacerdotale : voilà où Dieu l’appelle
Par trois fois, son fourreau se détache de sa ceinture, tombe à terre, et forme une croix avec son épée… Il sent là, une réponse de la Providence à ses multiples prières concernant son avenir… Stupéfait et très ému, François plie le genou : « il nous faut prendre la croix s’écrit-il, car Dieu nous y appelle« .
Il décide alors, à la suite de ce miracle de laisser tout ce qui le retient au monde et de se consacrer totalement à Dieu. Et sa biographie nous montre à quel point il s’y est totalement employé !
Un petit oratoire construit il y a une cinquantaine d’années atteste du passage de St François dans la forêt de Sonnaz.
Comment se rendre à l’oratoire saint François de Sales à Sonnaz ?
Prendre l’ancienne route de Chambéry à Aix les Bains (D991).
Après Sonnaz, suivre le petit chemin de terre sur la gauche indiquant l’oratoire et mentionnant également : « interdit sauf riverains ».
Laisser la voiture en bordure d’un champ et marcher quelques minutes sous la voute des châtaigniers. On accède alors à ce curieux monument qui ressemble plus à un clocher qu’à une chapelle en miniature : un toit pointu surmonté d’une croix étrange, acérée, évocatrice du fait mystérieux qui s’est produit ici-même ; trois marches en pierres de Haute Maurienne et un texte gravé : voilà ce qui atteste du miracle de l’épée de Saint François de Sales.
