Le cardinal Carlo Caffarra est mort hier matin mercredi 6 septembre à l’improviste et de façon inattendue.
Agé de 79 ans, il vivait à Bologne, dont il était l’archevêque émérite. Cette année il avait fait parler de lui en s’opposant ouvertement au pape au sujet des ambiguïtés contenues dans l’exhortation bergoglienne sur la famille, Amoris Laetitia. Il avait d’ailleurs signé, en compagnie de trois autres cardinaux, les fameux Dubia envoyés à François auxquels ce dernier n’a jamais daigné répondre. Lui qui pourtant trouve le temps d’appeler au téléphone des politiciens radicaux, anti-cléricaux et pro-avortement comme feu Marco Panella ou, pour lui payer un voyage à Sainte-Marthe afin de venir le rencontrer, une transsexuelle espagnole se plaignant de l’intransigeance de son curé. Non, vraiment, les défenseurs de la famille traditionnelle et de la loi naturelle n’ont pas le droit à la considération de ‘l’aimable’ François !
Étonnamment un autre des signataires est décédé lui-aussi cette année, le 5 juillet dernier à l’âge de 83 ans, le cardinal Joachim Meisner pendant qu’il était en voyage en Allemagne.
Il ne reste donc plus de « cette bande des quatre », comme on les surnomme au Vatican, que deux cardinaux pour contre-carrer les machinations de François sur la famille : Raimond Burke (69 ans) et Walter Brandmüller (88).
Avant, qui sait, que « la malédiction » de François ne les emporte…
