Le député européen du Front National de la circonscription du Sud-Ouest, Édouard Ferrand est décédé hier, jeudi 1er février 2018.
Membre du FN depuis 1983, il siégeait au parlement européen depuis 2014 et était membre du Bureau Politique du FN. Proche de Louis Aliot, il animait la délégation française du groupe ENL au Parlement Européen.
Le Front National annonce son décès dans un communiqué paru aujourd’hui :
« Le FN a appris avec une grande tristesse la disparition d’Édouard Ferrand, député français au Parlement Européen, Membre du Bureau Politique. »
Marié, père de 5 enfants, docteur en science politique, écrivain, historien, et « passionné par le Liban », le FN le décrit comme un « ardent défenseur des valeurs traditionnelles et de la ruralité ». Il présidait depuis septembre 2017 le « Club Idées & Nation », think tank lancé Louis Aliot.
Nicolas Bay, coprésident du groupe ENL et vice-président du FN , a rendu hommage, dans un autre communiqué, à un
« combattant jusqu’au bout », « un militant engagé très jeune dans le combat national, mobilisé dans toutes les batailles électorales, ce qui l’a conduit à siéger notamment au conseil régional de Bourgogne, où il a présidé le groupe des élus FN pendant de nombreuses années. Jusqu’au bout, il aura fait preuve d’une grande pudeur, d’une grande dignité et d’un courage qui forcent le respect. »

La disparition de notre ami Édouard Ferrand est une perte cruelle.
