ANVERS – Le Vlaams Belang (parti flamand de droite nationale) a présenté sa nouvelle campagne. Le parti affrétera dans les deux prochaines semaines des véhicules publicitaires appelant les personnes en situation irrégulière à « rentrer chez elles ou aller en prison » (« Illegaal? Ga naar huis of naar de gevangenis! »).
Le parti nationaliste flamand s’inspire d’une campagne similaire menée par le gouvernement conservateur de David Cameron l’été dernier au Royaume-Uni.
A l’approche des élections, trois véhicules sillonneront les rues d’Anvers, de Bruxelles et de Gand durant les deux prochaines semaines. En dessous du slogan, le Vlaams Belang a fait figurer le numéro de téléphone du cabinet de Maggie De Block, la secrétaire d’Etat à l’asile, ainsi que le numéro gratuit ouvert par Fedasil aux candidats au retour volontaire.
« Nous accusons les autorités de ne pas en faire suffisamment pour traquer les illégaux, les enfermer et les rapatrier », affirme Filip Dewinter, figure bien connue du parti.
Le Vlaams Belang avait connu un important déclin électoral ces dernières années. En même temps que le parti adoucissait son discours et choisissait de parler moins de l’immigration pour se limiter à dénoncer l’insécurité, il voyait son électorat basculer vers la NVA (droite libérale indépendantiste). Pour tenter de retrouver ses électeurs, le parti renoue avec les thèmes de campagne qui avaient fait son succès autrefois.
