Emmanuel Macron avait déjà créé la surprise en organisant une fête afro-techno-lgbt à l’Elysée pour célébrer la Fête de la Musique. Le 3 juillet, c’est une nouvelle surprise : Emmanuel Macron arrive dans une boîte de nuit du Nigeria et danse sur de la musique afrobeat.

Le même mardi 3 juillet, la Sénégalaise N’Goné Fall est nommée commissaire générale de cette Saison Afrique 2020 souhaitée par Emmanuel Macron et qui a pour objectif officiel de « faire découvrir en France, l’image d’une Afrique en mouvement et en pleine mutation », selon le communiqué publié par Françoise Nyssen, ministre de la Culture.
Née en 1967 à Dakar, N’Goné Fall est très engagée dans la reconnaissance des artistes africains dans le milieu de l’art international.
C’est le 28 novembre 2017, en voyage à Ouagadougou, qu’Emmanuel Macron avait annoncé pour la première fois avoir décidé de « lancer en 2020 une saison des cultures africaines en France ».
