Le 15 août 2016, nombreux ont été les politiciens à se souvenir qu’il existe un électorat catholique.
Comme par hasard, les élus étaient nombreux à se montrer ostensiblement à l’une ou l’autre célébration religieuse en ce jour de l’Assomption. Un véritable bal des hypocrites très prisé par tous ceux qui seront candidats en 2017, que ce soit à la présidentielle ou aux législatives. Nicolas Sarkozy, François Fillon, Christian Estrosi, Nadine Morano, ont tous trouvé le chemin de la messe ce 15 août 2016.
Alain Juppé s’est même rendu à Lourdes, et a fait tout ce qu’il fallait pour être pris en photo à proximité du cardinal Barbarin, avant d’en diffuser quelques clichés sur les réseaux sociaux.
Rappelons que c’est ce même Alain Juppé qui avait déclaré en 2009, à propos des déclarations du pape Benoît XVI sur les préservatifs, « ce pape commence à poser un vrai problème« . C’est encore ce même Alain Juppé qui, en 2015, fustigeait « ceux qui évoquent sans arrêt les racines chrétiennes de la France« , ajoutant sur son blog que «certes notre pays a des racines chrétiennes, ce qui ne veut pas dire qu’elles soient exclusives». Ce même Alain Juppé qui, toujours en 2015, résumait ce qu’il avait retenu des Evangiles à l’accueil de l’étranger. Ce même Alain Juppé qui, en 2016, a confirmé que s’il était élu président, on ne reviendrait pas sur la loi Taubira.
Autre hypocrite de première, Bruno Le Maire s’est fait plus discret ce 15 août. Il s’était quelque peu grillé en déclarant en mai dernier au magazine La Vie : «Quand dans les manifestations contre le mariage pour tous, je vois revenir un catholicisme politique et que l’on me dit que l’Église peut prendre des positions politiques, moi le catholique, dont toute la famille est catholique, je dis non».
