Le Washington Times signale qu’une étude internationale réalisée auprès de plus de 6.000 médecins et publiée jeudi a révélé que le médicament antipaludique hydroxychloroquine était le traitement considéré le plus efficace pour traiter le coronavirus.
L’enquête menée par Sermo, une entreprise mondiale de sondage sur les soins de santé, auprès de 6.227 médecins dans 30 pays a révélé que 37 % des personnes qui traitent des patients COVID-19 ont évalué l’hydroxychloroquine comme la «thérapie la plus efficace» parmi une liste de 15 options.
La Food and Drug Administration des États-Unis a donné lundi à la chloroquine et à son dérivé de nouvelle génération, l’hydroxychloroquine, une autorisation d’utilisation d’urgence pour traiter le nouveau coronavirus, bien que le médicament soit déjà utilisé par certains médecins et hôpitaux pour les patients COVID-19.
L’enquête a également révélé que les traitements les plus couramment prescrits sont les analgésiques (56 %), l’azithromycine (41 %) et l’hydroxychloroquine (33 %).
L’azithromycine a été classée deuxième thérapie la plus efficace à 32 %, suivie par «rien», les analgésiques (y compris l’acétaminophène), les médicaments anti-VIH et les médicaments contre la toux.
