Nouvelle illustration du communautarisme homosexuel. Dans le Minnesota, la maison de retraite Spirit On Lake est destinée aux pensionnés LGBT. Les 46 logements ont ouvert en septembre et sont tous occupés aujourd’hui.
«Spirit On Lake» est une initiative de « Barbara » Satin, transsexuel qui s’intéresse au marché spécifique des seniors LGBT depuis une dizaine d’années. Ce transsexuel est à la tête d’une « congrégation » qui se présente volontiers comme une… « église queer » (queer est un qualificatif utilisé notamment pour les transgenres).
Des drapeaux arc-en-ciel flottent aux balcons de plusieurs résidences. Comme si la communauté LGBT était un Etat dans l’Etat.
C’est le deuxième dispositif de ce type aux Etats-Unis, après celui de Triangle Square en Californie fondée en 2007, mais plusieurs grandes villes envisageraient d’en construire prochainement.
