Manuelle Calmat est journaliste à Europe 1. En 2009, elle avait déjà signé un livre consacré au GIGN. Ces jours-ci est sorti son nouveau livre traitant une fois encore de soldats d’élite. Cette fois, ce sont les Commandos Marine qu’elle met à l’honneur.
Aussi insolite et improbable que cela puisse paraître, cette jeune femme journaliste a goûté au quotidien des bérets verts des commandos Hubert, Trépel, Jaubert, Montfort, Penfentenyo, Kieffer et Poncherdier. Elle a enquêté auprès de ces hommes d’exception, nageurs de combat, tireurs de précision, experts en explosifs, chuteurs opérationnels.
Des récits glanés auprès d’eux, elle en a fait un livre qui se lit comme un roman d’action. En sept aventures écrites sur un rythme haletant, et présentées comme des fictions, elle remet en scène des situations bien réelles que lui ont décrites ceux qui, dans l’ombre, risquent leur vie.
Ce livre nous entraîne dans les épreuves de leur sélection, puis dans des opérations mouvementées : arrestation de trafiquants de drogue au large de la Colombie, libération d’otages au Groenland, sauvetage de ressortissants français dans le golfe de Guinée, lutte contre la piraterie en Guyane, interception d’un dangereux chef de guerre au Niger, opération à haut risque au Yémen.
