Le Département des enquêtes de police (DPI) a annoncé que cinq personnes se présentant maintenant comme des Syriens ont été arrêtés à l’aéroport de Toncontin avec de faux passeports grecs, qu’ils se sont apparemment fournis en Grèce.
La destination finale de ces individus était les États-Unis. Tous les cinq venaient d’Athènes, a déclaré Anibal Baca, porte-parole du DPI, qui précise que les hommes avaient l’intention d’arriver via les airs à San Pedro Sula, d’où ils auraient entrepris un voyage par la route jusqu’au États-Unis.
Selon le porte-parole du DPI, « le personnel des services de l’Immigration a détecté l’irrégularité et arrêté les étrangers dans le terminal de l’aéroport, et convoqué la mission diplomatique grecque au Honduras, qui a confirmé qu’ils n’étaient pas citoyens grecs« . Après interrogatoire par le DPI, ils seront présentés au procureur, en liaison avec Interpol.
Selon le journal El Heraldo, vendredi dernier, on a déjà enregistré l’arrivée d’un « Syrien » avec passeport grec, venant du Paraguay, puis expulsé vers le Salvador à sa demande mais qui a été ensuite arrêté en Argentine.
L’aéroport de Toncontin est sous haute sécurité depuis l’incident. Le porte-parole de la DPI a déclaré que le Honduras est « en alerte » après ces événements et les récentes attaques de Paris par le groupe djihadiste État islamique.
