I comme Icare est un film policier français réalisé par Henri Verneuil, sorti en 1979 mettant en vedette Yves Montand.
Le film imagine une situation fictive, fortement inspirée de la théorie d’une conspiration ayant conduit à l’assassinat de John Kennedy, dans laquelle le personnage principal interprété par Yves Montand va tenter de lever le mystère.
Le film possède des qualités intrinsèques : une enquête policière prenante et bien rythmée, des dialogues très bien construits et riches ainsi qu’une réalisation jouant entre l’ombre et la lumière dans des décors atypique pour un film français.
Mais le film n’est pas seulement divertissant. Il apporte une réflexion approfondie sur le pouvoir institutionnel, notamment par la retranscription à l’écran du test de Milgram.
Ce test, mis au point par un psychologue dans les années 60, est une expérience de soumission à l’autorité. Il a permis de démontrer que 2/3 des individus y ayant participé sont capables d’exécuter n’importe quel ordre, fut il le plus bête ou le plus cruel, s’ils reconnaissent légitime l’autorité qui le leur a donné.
En prenant connaissance de cette expérience, on comprend mieux les trahisons et les renoncements de certaines personnes face à l’argument d’autorité. On pensera naturellement au concile Vatican II qui entrainera la majorité des catholiques dans l’apostasie silencieuse.

Ci dessous, la vidéo complétera de manière significative la démonstration. En effet, l’adaptation de l’expérience dans un cadre contemporain met en avant l’influence des médias sur le processus d’obéissance.
Il faut rappeler que l’autorité est bonne en soi car nécessaire dans la vie en société.
Mais l’obéissance à cette autorité n’est jamais une fin en soi. En effet, l’obéissance est une vertu morale qui ne prend son sens que dans une finalité. Il devient alors un devoir de désobéir quand l’obéissance rentre en conflit avec la foi ou la morale naturelle et chrétienne.
Puisse ce film divertir et faire réfléchir le plus grand nombre.
