Ken Loach est un excellent réalisateur de gauche, militant. Sa critique de la nouvelle société ubérisée est terriblement exacte. Un anglais des couches populaires comme seule l’Angleterre en compte avec tatouages et accent incompréhensible veut s’établir à son compte. Il en a marre des patrons et de ceux de sa classe ouvrière, pauvre troupeau exploité jusqu’à l’os.
Une entreprise de chauffeurs livreurs lui fait croire qu’il sera son propre maître. En réalité, il s’endette pour acheter son camion, fait vendre la voiture de sa femme garde malade, elle aussi exploitée jusqu’à plus soif et travaille tant que sa famille ne le voit plus. Deux enfants, une petite fille fine comme une lame et un ado taggeur en pleine dérive.
Toute la famille va souffrir mais la tendresse qui les lie les sauvera. Exactement comme dans Moi, Daniel Blake, le chômeur aidant une pauvre femme renvoyée des bureaux du chômage.
L’ultra libéralisme anglo-saxon en prend un coup et c’est satisfaisant…
Son ode à la famille est belle et c’est heureux.
