Desmond, new-yorkais, n’a que dix ans mais il est déjà l’un des drag queens les plus célèbres. Icône LGBT, il a annoncé la création d’un club réservé aux… enfants travestis.
Sous le surnom « Desmond is Amazing », (Desmond est merveilleux), cet enfant travesti new-yorkais de 10 ans est officiellement le créateur de « Haus of Amazing » (« maison du merveilleux »), un club réservé aux « drag kids », les enfants adeptes de la culture travestie, ses tenues et ses références.
« La « drag house » sera réservée aux jeunes de moins de 20 ans, leurs membres pourront communiquer librement sans l’interférence et le jugement des adultes », peut-on lire sur le site de Desmond.
Face aux critiques, l’enfant perverti réplique « Vous ne m’arrêterez jamais, je suis l’avenir ».
Desmond s’est mis à s’habiller en femme ou à se déguiser en princesse dès l’âge de deux ans.
En 2014, il est apparu dans le clip de Jinkx Monsoon, The Bacon Shake, aux côtés de son héros RuPaul, chanteur, parolier et drag queen emblématique.
Mais sa médiatisation a débuté à l’occasion de son apparition en tutu aux couleurs de l’arc-en-ciel lors de la Gay pride de New York en juin 2015.
Son compte Instagram compte aujourd’hui quasiment 16.000 abonnés. Ses fans, les « amazies », peuvent aussi suivre ses frasques sur sa page Facebook. Le lobby LGBT exulte…
