Belgique – Samedi après-midi, à Malines en Flandre, environ un millier de personnes ont participé à la manifestation « Stop à la persécution des chrétiens ».
«Rassembler les gens et montrer notre solidarité avec tous les chrétiens qui sont persécutés à travers le monde. C’était l’un des buts de l’organisation de ce défilé», explique Fernando Pauwels, l’un des organisateurs de cette manifestation.
«Nous voulons aussi que cette manifestation envoie un signal clair au monde politique : des atrocités telles que celles constatées actuellement au Moyen-Orient sont inadmissibles. » Ce porte-parole de la manifestation fait bien sûr référence aux cruautés des combattants de l’Etat islamique (IS).
Plusieurs intervenants ont pris la parole avant et après le défilé. Comme à Bruxelles durant l’été, la communauté syriaque était particulièrement visible. Dans la foule, on pouvait reconnaître des élus du Vlaams Belang, dont Filip Dewinter. On notera aussi la présence d’un groupe réuni autour de prêtres de la Fraternité Saint Pie X qui avançait en priant derrière une statue de la Sainte Vierge.
