Une fois de plus, les Ouïgours font parler d’eux par la violence meurtrière de leurs actions. Ce dimanche matin, la Chine s’est réveillée avec effroi en apprenant qu’un groupe terroriste islamiste ouighour avait attaqué la gare centrale de Kunming. Les faits se sont déroulés samedi soir vers 21h. Des hommes tout habillés de noir ont surgi dans la gare et ont frappé à l’arme blanche voyageurs et employés des chemins de fer. Cette attaque aurait fait au moins 34 morts et 130 blessés.
Les Ouïgours sont une population musulmane qui vit dans le Xinjiang, et veulent obtenir l’indépendance de cette province.
Fin octobre, ils avaient fait sauter une voiture piégée place Tiananmen à Pékin. Médias-Presse.info a déjà signalé les attaques et émeutes organisées par des Ouïgours, ainsi que les aspects géopolitiques de cette revendication séparatiste de la population musulmane du XinjIang, revendication soutenue par de nombreux groupes islamistes arabes ainsi que par des autorités turques rêvant d’un grand empire pan-ottoman.
Des images sanglantes de l’attaque de samedi soir ont rapidement circulé sur l’internet et Weibo, le Twitter chinois, avant d’être effacées par la censure chinoise pour ne pas traumatiser la population.
Le président Xi Jinping a déclaré qu’aucun effort ne devait être épargné pour retrouver les auteurs de cette attaque, qui seront «punis avec toute la sévérité de la loi ». Les forces de sécurité chinoises ont renforcé leur contrôle sur le Xinjiang, province dans laquelle est régulièrement repérée la présence de groupes djihadistes, formés et financés à l’étranger. Le Mouvement islamique du Turkestan oriental (Etim) prétend se battre pour l’indépendance du Turkestan oriental, ancien nom du Xinjiang chinois.
