Après le Sultanat de Brunei, deux autres pays, la Somalie et la Tadjikistan, ont également fait savoir qu’ils puniraient toute célébration publique de Noël.
Le ministre somalien de la Religion, Cheikh Mohamed Kheyrow, a interdit les festivités de Noël et du Nouvel An, affirmant que ces fêtes n’avaient «rien à voir avec l’Islam».
«C’est une question de foi», a-t-il déclaré, avant de préciser avoir envoyé des consignes à la police ainsi qu’aux services de renseignements et de la sécurité nationale de la capitale Mogadiscio, demandant d’empêcher toute célébration chrétienne en lien avec Noël ou le Nouvel An.
La Somalie est majoritairement musulmane, mais accueille des milliers de soldats de l’Union africaine (UA), dont une partie importante est issue de pays à majorité chrétienne tels que le Burundi, l’Ouganda ou encore le Kenya.
La célébration de Noël a également été interdite au Tadjikistan,
