C’est le ministère camerounais de la défense qui a annoncé cette information relative à une grosse opération menée du 26 au 28 novembre 2015 contre Boko haram dans les localités frontalières avec le Nigeria et que cette opération aurait permis de neutraliser plus d’une centaine de jihadistes et de «libérer près de 900 otages (…) et de saisir une importante cargaison d’armes et de munitions, ainsi que les drapeaux blanc-noir de l’Etat islamique »
Sur les ondes de la Cameroonian Radio and Television, la chaine nationale, le gouvernement s’est félicité de cette opération. «Le succès de cette opération est la résultante de la parfaite synergie entre les forces de défense camerounaise, des opérations Emergence 04 et Alpha, la Force Multinationale Mixte de la Commission du Bassin du Lac Tchad, et la collaboration des forces armées nigérianes ».
