Le week- end qui vient de passer a été sanglant pour les habitants de Kolofata au nord du Cameroun. En effet, jeuneafrique.com et l’AFP révèlent qu’au moins sept personnes ont été tuées dimanche lors d’un double attentat-suicide attribué à Boko Haram et commis à Kolofata, dans l’Extrême-Nord, au Cameroun. La double attaque a visé dimanche 13 septembre au matin la ville de Kolofata, située non loin de Kerawa, frappée le 3 septembre par un double attentat ayant fait de 20 à 40 morts selon les sources. « Les premières informations en notre possession font état de neuf morts [dont les deux kamikazes, NDLR] », a indiqué sous couvert d’anonymat un responsable de l’armée.
Les explosions ont également fait 21 blessés, dont « 11 cas préoccupants », a-t-il ajouté. « Les deux kamikazes se dirigeaient vers le marché de la ville lorsqu’ils ont été interceptés par des membres du comité de vigilance », a raconté ce miliaire.
« Dans la foulée l’un d’eux a actionné sa charge et s’est fait exploser. L’autre a tenté de s’échapper. Les membres du comité de vigilance se sont lancés à sa poursuite. Il s’est aussi fait exploser moins de cinq minutes après la première explosion », a-t-il ajouté.
Les attaques de Kolofata portent à neuf le nombre d’attentats-suicides ayant frappé depuis juillet l’Extrême-Nord du Cameroun. Une centaine de personnes ont péri dans ces attentats. Les autorités camerounaises ont pourtant considérablement renforcé les mesures de sécurité face aux menaces de Boko Haram.
Interdiction du port du voile islamique intégral, fouilles, perquisitions et parfois arrestations se sont multipliées en juillet et août. Boko Haram mène régulièrement depuis deux ans dans cette région des opérations meurtrières de harcèlement des forces de sécurité camerounaises et des raids contre des villages.
Une Force d’intervention conjointe multinationale (MNJTF), qui devrait compter environ 10 000 hommes, à laquelle doivent participer le Nigeria, le Niger, le Tchad, le Cameroun et le Bénin, a été mise en place pour mieux coordonner les efforts des différentes armées précise jeuneafrique.com.
