Ça y est, le Brexit aura lieu, vendredi 31 janvier à minuit ! Boris Johnson a réussi son pari et a mené à bien la sortie de l’union Européenne de la Grande-Bretagne.
Le Parlement européen a donc ratifié, mercredi et sans surprise, le Brexit, avec 621 voix pour, 49 contre, et 13 abstentions. À l’issue du vote, nombre d’élus se sont donné la main dans l’hémicycle et ont entonné le chant écossais Auld Lang Syne (« Ce n’est qu’un au revoir »).
L’eurodéputé britannique Nigel Farrage, fervent partisan du Brexit, a agité, comme les autres membres du Brexit Party, le drapeau britannique. « Au parti Ukip et au parti Brexit, nous aimons l’Europe. Mais nous haïssons l’Union européenne », a-t-il souligné avant de quitter l’hémicycle.
