Alexis Tsipras annonçant sa démission
Désavoué par des membres de son gouvernement qui ont jugé qu’il s’était couché devant Bruxelles au cours des dernières négociations sur la crise, le premier ministre de la Grèce, Alexis Tsipras après avoir bien tergiversé a finalement annoncé jeudi 20 août à la télévision, qu’il donnait sa démission. En l’état des oppositions au sein de son gouvernement et de sa majorité législative, il n’avait guère le choix.
Largement controversé au sein de son parti Syriza du fait de l’accord signé avec les créanciers du pays, Alexis Tsipras a également annoncé des élections législatives anticipées, 7 mois après la large victoire de la coalition de gauche radicale dont il avait pris la tête et moins de deux mois après son triomphal succès au référendum sur le refus de l’austérité, le 5 juillet 2015. Des élections anticipées auxquelles il annonce qu’il va se présenter.
Les médias évoquent comme date probables de ces nouvelles élections, le 13 ou le 20 septembre prochains.
