C’est l’idée qu’a évoqué dans une interview le nouveau président du Beci (Chambre de Commerce & Union des Entreprises de Bruxelles), Thierry Willemarck : « Il y a un trop grand laxisme vis-à-vis des jeunes. Il faut forcer la présence à l’école. Et ce n’est pas le rôle des professeurs mais des parents. Si cela ne s’améliore pas, il faut un pouvoir coercitif, par exemple suspendre les allocations familiales. Vous verriez les pères de famille reprendre les choses en main et obliger leur fils ou leur fille à aller à l’école. Il ne faut pas tourner autour du pot, on a toute une population d’origine maghrébine. Ces enfants sont nés en Belgique, souvent d’une deuxième génération. On ne peut pas les qualifier comme des étrangers. Ce sont des Belges. Mais ils sont issus d’une culture différente et ils sont dans un environnement où – excusez-moi l’expression – il manque le coup de pied au cul. » Ces propos n’ont pas manqué de faire réagir et on peut déjà deviner de quoi il s’agit…
