Belgique – Le MRAX (mouvement contre le racisme, l’antisémitisme et la xénophobie), un avatar à la belge du MRAP, réclame d’enlever de l’hôtel de ville de Schaerbeek le buste d’un ancien bourgmestre, Roger Nols. Imitant la traque du politiquement correct qui a suivi l’affaire de Charlottesville et se propage des Etats-Unis à toute l’Europe de l’Ouest, le président du MRAX revendique de déboulonner ce buste de l’édile politique local au motif qu’il véhiculait des idées… d’extrême droite. Tremblez, braves gens !
Bourgmestre de Schaerbeek, l’une des dix-neuf communes de Bruxelles particulièrement affectée par l’immigration depuis les années 1970, Roger Nols était un homme politique très populaire en raison de son franc parler.
A l’époque, les lois liberticides n’avaient pas encore muselé la parole et Roger Nols multipliaient les campagnes d’affichages contre l’immigration.
Avec humour, il s’était même promené en 1986 à dos de chameau et en djellabah dans les rues de sa commune pour sensibiliser les habitants sur la transformation des coutumes en raison d’une immigration qu’il qualifiait déjà d’invasion.
Roger Nols avait aussi franchi le Rubicon en invitant un certain… Jean-Marie Le Pen à prendre la parole au cours d’un dîner-débat que l’extrême gauche était venu chahuter. A l’époque, les copains du MRAX avaient joué aux casseurs et attaqué le lieu qui abritait ce dîner-débat. Déjà de vrais démocrates…
