Depuis la légalisation de l’euthanasie en Belgique, le nombre de personnes euthanasiées de façon officielle ne cesse d’augmenter. Plus de 2.000 personnes ont été légalement mises à mort sur le territoire belge l’année dernière. Les statistiques indiquent un rajeunissement de l’âge moyen des personnes euthanasiées.
Par ailleurs, ces mêmes statistiques signalent qu’environ 80 % des personnes euthanasiées en ont fait la demande en néerlandais. Cet aspect linguistique témoigne de la forte influence de l’esprit ultra-libéral qui sévit aussi aux Pays-Bas. Un ultra-libéralisme à la fois économique, moral et sociétal qui conduit au nihilisme.
