Autriche – Un demandeur d’asile syrien a comparu mercredi devant la justice autrichienne, accusé d’avoir achevé dans son pays d’origine vingt soldats blessés.
L’immigré, âgé de 27 ans mais dont l’identité n’a pas été révélée, avait été arrêté en juin dernier dans un centre de « réfugiés » de l’ouest de l’Autriche, après avoir été dénoncé par l’un de ses compatriotes. Il doit répondre de vingt accusations de « meurtres en tant que délit terroriste ».
Selon les médias autrichiens, l’accusé s’était vanté devant d’autres demandeurs d’asile d’avoir abattu des soldats blessés ou désarmés de l’armée syrienne, ce qui signifie qu’il a participé à des actes de guerre du côté d’une faction djihadiste (Etat Islamique ou Front al-Nosra) qui mène également des actions terroristes en Europe. Il avait reconnu tout d’abord de tels meurtres en 2013 et 2014 dans la ville de Homs et ses environs, dans l’ouest du pays, avant de revenir sur ses déclarations lors des interrogatoires devant la justice autrichienne.
