Etats-Unis – Dans l’Etat du Michigan, une sculpture a été déplacée par les autorités suite à la protestation lancée par des habitants qui considèrent qu’elle représente une orgie homosexuelle.
« Blue Human Condition » (Condition humaine en bleu), oeuvre du sculpteur américain Mark Chatterley, a été dévoilée au public la semaine dernière à proximité de l’hôtel de ville de la commune d’Adrian dans le Michigan. Sept corps androgynes étrangement positionnés constituent cette sculpture.
De nombreux habitants l’ont qualifiée « d’abomination » et ont protesté contre cette représentation d’une « orgie gaye ».
Le pasteur local, Rick Strawcutter, considère la sculpture comme « une perversion » et y voit « un signe que la ville veut ressembler à Sodome », faisant référence à une nouvelle ordonnance adoptée par les autorités locales en faveur des revendications LGBT.
Sur le site de la municipalité, un internaute répond aux moqueries des militants LGBT, expliquant qu’il est «malhonnête de dire que nous avons l’esprit mal tourné et que nous sommes des prudes réprimés sexuellement», ajoutant que «ses enfants de 10, 11 et 13 ans avaient tous trouvé la sculpture ‘dégoûtante’, et évitaient de passer à proximité».
Devant le tollé de nombreux habitants de la commune, la statue de Chatterley a été recouverte d’une bâche avant d’être déplacée dans un parc municipal, à l’abri des regards.
