L’album Tintin au Congo suscite régulièrement quelque grotesque controverse en Europe, parfois à la demande d’un immigré africain qui croit avoir flairé une bonne occasion de sortir de l’ombre, plus généralement sous la pression de cercles ethno-masochistes qui réclament la repentance permanente de l’homme blanc à l’égard de tous les maux de la planète.
Mais celui qui a l’occasion de voyager en Afrique noire en général, et au Congo en particulier, pourra rapidement vérifier que le héros de Hergé y est très aimé. Les Africains vivant en Afrique, dans leur très grande majorité, conservent assez de bon sens pour ne voir aucun racisme dans Tintin au Congo. Bien au contraire, au Congo, mais aussi dans beaucoup d’autres pays africains, nombreux sont les artisans qui vivent uniquement de la réalisation de statuettes et de peintures à l’effigie de Tintin et des autres personnages d’Hergé.
Et tant pis pour le politiquement correct qui sévit dans les capitales européennes.
