Nigéria – Cet attentat a eu lieu à Gombe. La première explosion a retenti vers 17h 20, heure locale, devant une boutique de chaussures remplie de clients venus faire leurs courses en vue de la fête de l’Aïd el-Fitr, marquant la fin du ramadan, et selon Badamasi Amin, un marchand qui a aidé à transporter des cadavres sur les lieux, la seconde a retenti à peine deux minutes plus tard, dans le marché de Gombe.
«Nous avons conduit les victimes dans deux hôpitaux : l’hôpital fédéral et l’hôpital d’Etat. A l’hôpital fédéral, nous avons 35 morts et 50 blessés, et à l’hôpital d’Etat, nous avons 14 morts et 21 blessés. Donc au total, nous avons 49 morts et 71 blessés», a déclaré un responsable des secours sous couvert d’anonymat, précisant que «les blessés sont dans un état critique», et que «certains pourraient ne pas survivre».
Le bilan est lourd à en croire le responsable des secours, et «de nombreuses femmes et des enfants font partie des victimes. Le lieu de l’explosion était bondé». Des témoins ont qualifié la scène de chaos. Ali Nasiru, un marchand qui s’est rendu sur les lieux après les détonations atteste : « il y avait des personnes gisant sans vie au sol, et d’autres qui souffraient de blessures »
Ces attaques n’ont pas encore été revendiquées, mais portent la marque de Boko Haram d’autant plus que cette ville avait déjà été l’objet de plusieurs attentats suicides.
