Les identités des trois terroristes qui ont commis l’attentat du London Bridge et à Borough Market samedi dernier est désormais connues. Il s’agit de membres de la communauté musulmane : Khuram Butt, un Britannique de 27 ans né au Pakistan, Rachid Redouane, 30 ans, Marocain et Libyen, et Youssef Zaghba, un Italo-Marocain de 22 ans.
Ce dernier, révèle le quotidien italien La Repubblica, avait été remarqué en 2016 lors d’un embarquement sur un vol en direction de la Turquie à l’aéroport de Bologne. Aux agents qui lui demandaient la raison de son voyage Youssef Zaghba avait répondu sans hésitation : « Je vais faire le terroriste ». Interrogée par la police italienne, la mère du futur terroriste avait soutenu qu’il habitait Londres et travaillait dans un restaurant pakistanais. Les affaires telles que son ordinateur et son téléphone portable, contenant des vidéos de propagande de l’État islamique, avaient été séquestrées par les enquêteurs.
Après enquête, une dénonciation pour terrorisme international avait été lancée contre lui. Mais les juges italiens, après un recours du jeune italo-marocain, avaient estimé que les preuves de son implication dans des activités terroristes n’étaient pas suffisantes et avaient demandé la restitution de tous les biens. Une disposition qui avait donc empêché de terminer les contrôles sur ses contacts. Les Italiens selon le Corriere della Sera avaient cependant informé le Royaume-Uni des déplacements de l’Italo-Marocain.

Ce nouvel attentat islamiste à Londres a fait sept morts, dont un Français, et 48 blessés dont 21 dans un état critique. L’organisation État islamique a revendiqué l’attaque dans un communiqué diffusé dimanche par son organe de presse Amaq.
Les trois terroristes, dont on connaît aujourd’hui l’identité, ont été abattus par la police londonienne.
