Pakistan – Il ne s’agit encore que d’un bilan provisoire, mais l’attentat antichrétien commis à Lahore a fait au moins 72 morts et plus de 300 blessés ce dimanche 27 mars.
L’attaque-suicide revendiquée par le groupe taliban Jamaat-ul-Ahrar a frappé un parc populaire de Lahore fréquenté par la minorité chrétienne du pays.
« Lorsque l’explosion s’est produite, les flammes sont montées si haut qu’elles ont dépassé les arbres et j’ai vu des corps voler dans les airs. », raconte un témoin.
Le kamikaze s’est fait exploser dans le parc pour enfants Gulshan-e-Iqbal, bondé en ce dimanche de Pâques. Les victimes sont surtout des femmes et des enfants.
La revendication de Jamaat-ul-Ahrar précise bien que c’est la minorité chrétienne qui était visée.
« Nous envoyons un message au Premier ministre pour lui dire que nous sommes entrés dans Lahore. Nos kamikazes vont continuer ces attaques. », est-il écrit dans le communiqué de cette faction islamiste.
Selon le quotidien pakistanais The News, une quinzaine de personnes ont été arrêtées à la suite de cet attentat, dont trois frères du kamikaze, dont la tête avait été retrouvée sur les lieux de l’explosion et qui a été identifié.
