Cette attaque aux portes d’Abidjan (à environ 40 km) a fait seize morts dont 1 Français, une Allemande et 22 blessés ce dimanche. Elle a été revendiquée par al-Qaida au Maghreb islamique(Aqmi).
Selon des témoins, les six assaillants cagoulés et armés de fusils automatiques ont ouvert le feu de façon sporadique sur tout ce qui bougeait aux environs de l’hôtel tout en criant « Allah Akbar » (Dieu est grand) : « c’était un grand carnage, au départ je croyais que c’était des pétards, mais au fil des temps j’ai réalisé que c’était une attaque » affirme un témoin.
Le président ivoirien, Alassane Ouattara, a immédiatement réagi et s’est rendu dans la localité. A la presse, il a évoqué un bilan «lourd, les terroristes ont réussi à tuer quatorze civils et nous avons perdu deux membres des forces spéciales.» A propos des assaillants, le ministre ivoirien de l’Intérieur, Hamed Bakayoko, a précisé que les six assaillants avaient été neutralisés par les forces de sécurité.
Dans un communiqué, François Hollande a dénoncé un « lâche attentat » et a promis un « soutien logistique et de renseignement pour retrouver les agresseurs ». Outre la justice française qui a ouvert une enquête pour assassinat terroriste avec cette victime française, le chef de la diplomatie française, Jean Marc Ayrault, et Bernard Cazeneuve, ministre de l’intérieur, vont se rendre mardi à Abidjan : il est vrai que la présence sur place de ces incapables devrait changer le cours des choses !!!
Précisons que la ville de Grand-Bassam est très prisée par la haute classe ivoirienne et les étrangers.
