Décidément la série noire des casques bleus ne semble pas terminée. En effet, un Casque bleu chinois et trois civils dont 1 Français et 2 Maliens tous agents des nations unies ont été tués dans une double attaque mardi soir à Gao, dans le nord du Mali. Al-Qaïda au Maghreb islamique (Aqmi) a revendiqué l’assaut, précisant qu’il avait été exécuté par des membres d’Al-Mourabitoune, groupe du chef djihadiste algérien Mokhtar Belmokhtar.
Selon le porte parole du secrétaire général de l’ONU : «Un Casque bleu du contingent chinois a trouvé la mort et une douzaine de membres du personnel des Nations unies ont été blessés dans l’explosion d’un véhicule piégé au camp»
Précisons qu’une première attaque a visé mardi vers 22h45, le camp de la mission de l’ONU et une deuxième a ciblé les locaux d’un prestataire pour le Service des Nations unies de lutte contre les mines (UNMAS) dans un autre quartier, et la 2è attaque selon le porte parole était presque simultanée. C’est celle là qui a tué le français : «un employé contractuel de nationalité française et deux gardes de sécurité de nationalité malienne ont également été tués »
Enfin, c’est pour la première fois qu’un casque bleu chinois est tué dans le nord du Mali, 3 autres Casques bleus chinois par contre en sortent avec des blessures lors de cette attaque.
