Asia Bibi, cette chrétienne pakistanaise condamnée à mort pour blasphème en 2010 au Pakistan, puis acquittée fin 2018 après une vaste campagne internationale de soutien, demande l’asile en France. C’est ce qu’elle a annoncé ce lundi 24 février sur RTL.
« J’ai le désir que le Président entende ma demande d’asile », a déclaré cette mère de famille pakistanaise qui ne peut retourner vivre dans son pays à cause des menaces islamistes qui pèsent sur sa vie. Selon ce que rapporte RTL, Asia Bibi va être reçue par Emmanuel Macron ce vendredi 28 février. En 2010, elle avait été condamnée à mort pour « blasphème » après avoir bu de l’eau d’un puits qu’elle aurait « souillé » par ce geste. Elle a finalement été acquittée fin 2018 après 11 ans de prison et a trouvé refuge au Canada.
Vivre en France « est mon désir », a indiqué Asia Bibi, expliquant qu’elle voulait « travailler aux côtés » d’Anne-Isabelle Tollet, avec qui elle a écrit un livre autobiographique, Enfin libre !.
