L’animateur de télévision et homme d’affaires Arthur, de son vrai nom Jacques Essebag, né à Casablanca dans une famille de juifs séfarades qui ont quitté le Maroc en 1967, est devenu en 2014 un exilé fiscal installé à Bruxelles, dans un quartier cossu d’Uccle, près du parc de Wolvendael.
A la tête de différentes sociétés comme la Five Stars Rothschild et le Ocean Group, Arthur est un redoutable promoteur immobilier. Pour le plus grand malheur des Bruxellois
L’un de ses derniers projets consiste à raser un joli manoir de l’avenue de Floride, ses écuries, ses deux serres et les 65 arbres qui les entourent, pour y construire trois immeubles à appartements de haut standing avec des piscines sur les toits. Le bling-bling dans toute sa laideur…
Or, ce manoir est inscrit à l’inventaire du patrimoine monumental de la Région de Bruxelles-Capital. Ce dont se fiche complètement le multi-millionnaire Jacques Essebag, dit Arthur.
