Belgique – Pierre Kompany, né au Congo et arrivé en Belgique en tant que réfugié politique en 1975, devient le premier bourgmestre (l’équivalent de maire) noir de Belgique, ce dont s’est félicité son fils Vincent Kompany, joueur de football.
Cela faisait de nombreuses années que Pierre Kompany briguait le maïorat de Ganshoren, l’une des dix-neuf communes bruxelloises. Selon la formule peu importe le flacon, pourvu qu’on ait l’ivresse, Pierre Kompany ne s’est pas trop soucié de changer d’étiquette politique, pourvu que cela lui permette d’atteindre son objectif.
D’abord élu communal socialiste, il avait ensuite quitté le PS parce qu’il n’avait pas obtenu la tête de liste qu’il convoitait. Et s’était rapproché du CDH, le parti humaniste (autrefois social-chrétien).
Au fil du temps, la célébrité de son fils Vincent, membre de l’équipe nationale belge des Diables Rouges et de l’équipe de Manchester, aura permis à Pierre Kompany de se faire élire parlementaire régional bruxellois puis maintenant bourgmestre de Ganshoren.
Le communautarisme n’étant jamais loin, Vincent Kompany, accompagné de son frère, a publié une courte vidéo sur Instagram, déclarant :
«Arrivé en tant que réfugié du Congo en 1975, il a obtenu la confiance de sa commune pour devenir le premier bourgmestre « noir » élu en Belgique. Nous sommes très fiers de notre père.»
