Erigé au tout début du premier siècle, le premier niveau fut réaménagé et utilisé comme pont routier au Moyen Age…
Il a aujourd’hui plus de 2000 ans !

Il vient de s’effondrer sur une longueur de 8 arches…

Fruit de la civilisation industrielle, Il avait à peine plus de cent ans !…
En mode allégorique, cette histoire devrait intéresser le pape François, fervent amateur et propagandiste de l’édification de « ponts » : ce n’est pas le tout d’en construire, encore faut-il qu’ils soient bien bâtis et adaptés aux contingences de leurs lieux d’érection pour avoir une quelconque persistance dans le temps…
On l’avait déjà vu avec le pont Saint Bénézet à Avignon… pourtant cité des papes !
