Un des leaders du mouvement contestataire de la Place Maïdan et aujourd’hui candidat à la présidentielle Vitali Klitchko, a été obligé d’annuler dimanche un meeting à Donetsk après le rassemblement de 10.000 pro-russes. Ils ont hissé le drapeau russe sur le siège local des services de sécurité. On pouvait entendre :« Russie » ou « Donetsk, ville russe » ou bien encore « Poutine président ».
Aujourd’hui il participait à un rassemblement du mouvement contestataire EuroMaïdan à Kharkov. Une centaine de manifestants pro-russes se sont mis à balancer des oeufs sur le leader qui a été protégé par les parapluies de ses gardes-du-corps. Ils criaient :« Russie » et « le fascisme ne passera pas ». Au moment de son départ, deux pétards puissants ont été lancés dans sa direction à proximité. Notons que la ville de Kharkov, qui se situe à l’Est du pays, s’est toujours battue pour l’utilisation de la langue russe ce qu’elle a obtenu en juillet 2007.
