On se souvient que dans la nuit du 5 au 6 novembre dernier, « l’arbre de la laïcité » planté à Angers pour commémorer la loi du 9 décembre 1905 promulguant la séparation des Églises et de l’État, avait été décapité.
Un nouveau chêne avait été replanté dimanche dernier en présence d’élus locaux, de représentants d’associations laïcistes et de quelques francs-maçons de la région. « Nous le replanterons autant de fois qu’il le faudra », avait-il été déclaré sur un ton solennel. Mais ces gardiens de la République outragée sont à nouveau saisis d’effroi.
Alors qu’il rendait hommage à Nelson Mandela dans la cité éducative des Hauts de Saint Aubin, en compagnie des responsables de l’Éducation, le maire d’Angers a fait part de sa vive émotion : « Ils ont osé ! L’arbre de la Laïcité que je venais de replanter dimanche en compagnie de plusieurs centaines d’Angevins a de nouveau été décapité, dans la nuit du 9 au 10 décembre », a déclaré le maire.
« Le doute n’est donc plus permis sur l’intention symbolique du ou des auteurs, qui mènent une sorte de guérilla « antirépublicaine » à la petite semaine. Quelque chose ne tourne pas rond dans la tête de ces tristes personnes ».
Le maire a déclaré « qu’il replantera cet arbre, encore et encore… ». « Les ennemis de la République ne gagneront jamais. Angers est une ville de tolérance, républicaine et fière de l’être », a ajouté le maire.
Un seul arbre vous manque et c’est toute la laïcité angevine qui s’émeut…
