Folie d’un simple automobiliste ou attentat terroriste ?
Pour l’instant les autorités allemandes ne se prononcent pas quant aux motivations qui ont conduit un Allemand de 29 ans a foncé, aujourd’hui lundi 24 février, avec sa voiture sur un défilé de carnaval à Volkmarsen, dans le centre de l’Allemagne.
Selon les premiers témoignages, le conducteur a foncé dans la procession avec son break Mercedes gris métallisé, immatriculé dans la région. Il aurait ainsi contourné une barrière puis grandement accéléré dans la foule, poursuivant ainsi sa course sur une trentaine de mètres. Des témoins interrogés par le quotidien Frankfurter Rundschau ont eu l’impression que le suspect visait particulièrement les enfants.
Le conducteur du véhicule « a été arrêté », a précisé la police, sans fournir de précisions sur ses motivations. Il s’agit d’un Allemand de 29 ans originaire de la région, selon la police citée par le quotidien local Hessische Niedersächische Allgemeine. Il n’était toutefois pas en état d’être interrogé, selon un porte-parole du ministère régional de l’intérieur de Hesse.
« Il y a plusieurs dizaines de blessés, y compris des blessés graves », a précisé un porte-parole de la police. Les victimes ont été prises en charge par des équipes de secours déployées en masse dans cette ville de 7 000 habitants.
Comme à chaque fois qu’un tel événement assassin se produit, le même scénario médiatique se répète : la police locale déclare privilégier la piste de l’acte « délibéré » mais « pas d’un attentat », sans pour autant exclure l’hypothèse. L’information qui se veut rassurante est reprise en boucle par les médias mainstream. Ce n’est souvent que le lendemain ou surlendemain que l’acte terroriste est enfin reconnu.
