Au cours de la première semaine de novembre, un centre qui réalisait des avortements dans la localité de Little Havana, à Miami, a dû fermer ses portes et laisser les bâtiments qu’il utilisait. Quelques heures plus tard, les responsables d’une association pro-vie ont signé un contrat de location du même bâtiment.
Les deux femmes qui dirigent l’association ont déclaré à la presse locale que, sur ces installations, elles vont ouvrir un centre spécialisé dans les soins de maternité. Ce service, qui sera gratuit, a pour but de protéger et soutenir financièrement et moralement les femmes enceintes.
Au total, quatre centres de protection à la femme enceinte ont été ouverts depuis 2007 grâce au travail de cette association pro-vie. Avant l’ouverture du premier centre pro-vie, il y avait 37 centres/cliniques qui pratiquaient des avortements.
Les deux responsables du centre « Espérance », comme elles l’ont appelé, ont parlé de la manière si inattendue dans laquelle elles ont réussi à obtenir l’argent pour couvrir les frais du loyer. En fait, aux États-Unis, le réseau des associations pro-vie est très bien organisé.
C’est grâce à un jeune homme d’affaires qui a fait un don à l’association, que les frais de location ont pu être couverts et le contrat a été signé.
Depuis plusieurs années, la guerre a été déclarée entre ceux qui encouragent ces actes criminels et les associations en faveur de l’enfant à naître. Nombreux sont les états américains qui ont accueilli ces centres de protection à la femme enceinte, et, tout comme à Miami, ces centres criminels ont dû fermer leurs portes.
