La spirale mortifère continue dans le secteur de la médecine. Désormais, certains hôpitaux vont être habilités à transplanter des organes prélevés sur des décédés, après l’arrêt du maintien en vie, autrement dit euthanasiés.
C’est FranceInfo qui a révélé la nouvelle. Le Centre hospitalier d’Annecy Genevois fait partie des premiers à pratiquer l’intervention. Une intervention rendue possible grâce à une convention spéciale signée entre l’Agence de la biomédecine et ledit hôpital.
Comment les choses se passent-elles concrètement ? Des patients, plongés dans un coma profond voire irréversible, voient leurs soins de maintien en vie diminués ou complètement stoppés. C’est ce que l’on appelle une euthanasie passive. Le décès, consécutif à cette diminution ou cet arrêt, permet à un autre service d’intervenir pour prélever les organes.
Il paraît qu’un protocole très strict a été mis en place pour éviter les dérives. Et une étanchéité complète entre les services est exigée pour éviter que la forte demande en greffons d’un service n’influence un autre où se trouvent des personnes maintenues en vie…
Le centre hospitalier d’Annecy a été le premier à signer ce genre de convention. Mais manifestement d’autres devraient lui emboiter le pas.
