Indonésie – Le prisme occidental laisse penser que le monde entier se plait à satisfaire les revendications LGBT. Mais il subsiste de nombreux pays, qui couvrent une très grande partie de la planète, qui n’acceptent pas cette inversion des mœurs. C’est notamment le cas en Indonésie où des arrestations sont mêmes organisées pour dissuader toute tentative d’apporter de la visibilité à l’homosexualité ou aux transgenres.

Le 4 novembre, des agents de la Satpol PP de Padang (province de Sumatra-Ouest) ont arrêté dix femmes « suspectées d’homosexualité » après que l’une d’elles a publié sur Facebook une photo d’elle embrassant et serrant dans ses bras une autre femme. Des habitants de Padang se sont plaints de la diffusion de cette photo, à la suite de quoi la police a procédé à ces arrestations. La police a indiqué que ces 10 personnes seront envoyées suivre un « programme de sensibilisation ».

Dans la province voisine de Lampung, la Satpol PP locale a fait une descente sur une plage et arrêté trois transgenres lors d’une opération visant à « assurer la sécurité et maintenir l’ordre public » dans la ville. Les agents de la Satpol PP ont ensuite arrosé en public à la lance d’incendie les personnes arrêtées, dans le cadre d’un « bain obligatoire », ou ghusl.

Préalablement, le 31 octobre, le chef de la Satpol PP de Pasaman occidental (province de Sumatra-Ouest) avait annoncé l’arrestation de deux lesbiennes. En octobre, la Satpol PP avait également arrêté six transgenres. Elle a expliqué que cette série d’arrestations visait à « s’assurer que la ville soit exempte de LGBT ». Le chef de la Satpol PP a déclaré qu’il n’y avait « aucune place pour les personnes LGBT dans la ville », en ajoutant que ces arrestations étaient justifiées au regard du règlement relatif à l’ordre public de Pasaman occidental, qui « prévoit des sanctions légères pour les personnes LGBT ».

Le 19 octobre, la police de Java-Ouest a aussi arrêté deux hommes qui sont les administrateurs d’un groupe Facebook intitulé « Gay Bandung Indonesia », ou GBI, qui compte 4 093 membres. Ces deux hommes ont ensuite été inculpés au titre de la Loi relative aux informations et aux transactions électroniques (Loi ITE), un texte aux dispositions draconiennes, pour « diffusion d’informations électroniques contenant des atteintes à la pudeur ».

Plus tôt cette année, le 27 janvier 2018, dans le district de l’Aceh-Nord, la police a arrêté 12 transgenres et fermé cinq lieux de prostitution où ils rencontraient leurs clients. Durant ces descentes, la police leur a coupé les cheveux et les a obligés à porter des vêtements d’hommes.
