Ces deux jeunes femmes sont des héroïnes dont les médias allemands, italiens et polonais racontent l’exploit. Les faits se sont déroulés en Allemagne. Ces deux amies, l’Italienne Linda Cariglia (20 ans) et la Polonaise Karolina Smaga (21 ans), se dirigeaient vers la gare, tôt le matin, lorsque leur attention a été attirée par des bruits dans les buissons. Un jeune immigré marocain tentait de violer une jeune femme.

La jeune Polonaise, qui mesure à peine 1m57, n’a pas hésité un seul instant à intervenir. Elle a crié « Enlève toi d’elle », a poussé l’agresseur et a aidé la victime à se relever.

« Elle a poussé la victime en pleurs vers moi, je l’ai serrée dans mes bras et j’ai sorti mon téléphone. J’ai appelé la police, mais j’étais choquée, je ne savais pas où nous étions. J’ai donné le téléphone à Karolina », explique Linda.

Quand le violeur marocain s’est relevé, il s’est précipité sur la Polonaise et lui a arraché le téléphone des mains. Trop tard : la police était au courant. Karolina a alors donné un coup de poing au visage du violeur qui a aussitôt pris la fuite.

Pendant que Linda continuait à s’occuper de la jeune femme violentée, Karolina a poursuivi le fugitif. « Je voulais arrêter ce type. Je ne voulais pas qu’il s’en tire comme ça. »

L’auteur de la tentative de viol avortée s’est dirigé vers un parking dans la rue Elsa Brändström et a sorti un vélo derrière un mur du jardin. « Il était sur le point de partir », raconte Karolina. Mais la Polonaise a poussé le vélo, faisant tomber l’agresseur.

Le Marocain a sorti un couteau et a légèrement blessé la courageuse Polonaise. Mais la police est arrivée sur les lieux et a arrêté l’agresseur, un jeune Marocain de 25 ans qui, selon la police, vit dans un foyer pour réfugiés à Herford.

Depuis, les deux jeunes femmes racontent encore et encore les faits aux journalistes. Et surtout, elles donnent une fameuse leçon de courage aux hommes. Car ce qui a choqué les deux jeunes femmes, c’est que des hommes se trouvaient à proximité mais aucun n’a réagi.

Devant les éloges dont elles font l’objet et la grande gratitude de la victime, elles restent modestes et parlent simplement du nécessaire « courage moral ».

Linda Cariglia insiste : « Nous voulons juste vous secouer et vous montrer combien il est important d’aider les autres ». « Il suffit d’imaginer que la personne agressée est peut-être sa propre sœur, petite amie ou fille », ajoute Karolina Smaga. « Alors il devient tout à fait naturel que l’on intervienne ».
