Jean Raspail, formidable écrivain dont le roman Le Camp des Saints fut effroyablement visionnaire, a célébré son 93ème anniversaire le 4 juillet dernier.
Le Figaro rapporte qu’à cette occasion, Jean Raspail a reçu l’appel téléphonique d’un ministre en exercice. Pas un ministre français, rassurez-vous.
C’est Madame Karin Kneissl, ministre autrichienne des Affaires étrangères, qui a souhaité un non anniversaire à Jean Raspail et lui a dit combien elle avait été marquée par son roman Le Camp des saints, paru en 1973, qui décrivait avec réalisme et détails l’invasion soudaine de l’Europe par une multitude d’immigrés venus par bâteaux. Karin Kneissl a également fort apprécié la préface jointe à la réédition de ce livre, dans laquelle Jean Raspail a créé le concept de « Big Other », cet Autre dominateur.
Karin Kneissl est devenue ministre des Affaires étrangères en décembre 2017 dans le gouvernement présidé par Sebastian Kurz, en qualité de personnalité indépendante proposée par le FPÖ. D’abord diplomate, elle avait travaillé au ministère des Affaires étrangères avant d’entamer une carrière de journaliste indépendante. Ses prises de positions sur l’immigration avaient été remarquées.
