Patrice Evra, défenseur de Marseille (et ancien capitaine des Bleus), devait être remplaçant lors du match de Ligue Europa de l’OM sur la pelouse du Vitoria Guimaraes jeudi soir, au Portugal.
Lors de l’échauffement, des supporteurs marseillais passés par dessus les barrières ont réclamé son départ. Patrice Evra s’est dirigé vers eux et tout a vite dérapé façon racailles. Insultes et bousculade puis Patrice Evra a décoché un coup de pied à la tête d’un des supporteurs qui l’insultait.
Plusieurs autres joueurs ont éloigné Patrice Evra des tribunes et il est rentré aux vestiaires. Il a été sanctionné d’un carton rouge avant même le coup d’envoi de la rencontre et n’a pas pris place sur le banc de touche.
Selon le statisticien Opta, Patrice Evra est «le premier joueur à se faire expulser avant le début d’un match dans l’histoire de la Ligue Europa», depuis sa formule actuelle de 2009-2010.
