Vos initiatives pastorales et leur justifications théologiques sont actuellement attaquées avec véhémence par un groupe dans l’Église. Avec cette lettre ouverte nous souhaitons exprimer notre gratitude pour votre courageuse et théologiquement saine autorité papale.
En peu de temps vous avez réussi à reformer la culture pastorale de l’Église catholique romaine en accord avec ses origines en Jésus. Les personnes blessées et la nature blessée vont droit à votre cœur. Vous voyez l’Église comme un hôpital en campagne aux périphéries de la vie. Votre souci se porte vers chaque personne aimée de Dieu. Quand nous rencontrons les autres, la compassion et non la loi aura le dernier mot. Dieu et la miséricorde de Dieu caractérisent la culture pastoral que vous attendez de l’Église. Vous rêvez d’une Église mère et bergère. Nous partageons votre rêve.
Nous vous demandons de ne pas dévier de cette voie que vous avez prise et nous vous assurons de tout notre soutien et de notre prière constante.
