Afrique du Sud – Quatre personnes ont été arrêtées à Estcourt à l’est du pays, pour plusieurs viols, meurtres et… actes de cannibalisme.
C’est l’un de ces cannibales qui s’est lui-même rendu à la police le 18 août en expliquant aux policiers qu’il était « fatigué de manger de la chair humaine« .
Pour prouver ses dires, il a remis à la police une main et une jambe qu’il avait en sa possession. L’individu a ensuite décrit les rituels et livré le nom des autres sorciers, ce qui a conduit à l’arrestation de trois autres personnes.
Les quatre individus sont âgés de 22 à 32 ans et ont donc cherché à perpétuer des pratiques ancestrales de sorcellerie dont le détail est terrifiant.
Les victimes sont des femmes, qui ont été violées, puis tuées et en partie mangées. A ce stade de l’enquête, il n’est pas possible de déterminer combien ces individus ont fait de victimes. Mais la police a découvert huit oreilles chez ces adeptes de sorcellerie africaine antropophage.
Le cannibalisme est sujet tabou mais il est encore pratiqué en cachette dans plusieurs pays d’Afrique noire.
