« Jamie McCourt, la nouvelle ambassadrice US en France est juive et pro-Israël« . C’est Le Monde juif qui l’écrit fièrement en titre de l’article consacré à cette nomination.
Désignée mercredi par Donald Trump au poste d’ambassadrice des États-Unis en France, Jamie McCourt, 63 ans, est une juriste et une femme d’affaires californienne.
Le Monde juif la présente ainsi :
(…) Jusqu’à son divorce en 2011, elle était co-propriétaire du grand club de base-ball de Los Angeles, les Dodgers, avec son ancien mari, Frank McCourt – lequel est actuellement propriétaire de l’Olympique de Marseille.
(…) La nouvelle ambassadrice américaine est juive et pro-Israël. Selon le Jewish Journal, les parents de la femme d’affaires n’étaient pas très religieux mais « ardemment sionistes ».
Jamie McCourt a visité Israël à plusieurs reprises. La femme d’affaires a également financé à hauteur de plusieurs millions de dollars l’édition 2009 des Maccabiades, les Jeux olympiques juifs.
Elle a aussi reçu le Prix Scopus décerné par les American Friends of the Hebrew University.
